The Complete Guide to Movie Marketing

Movie Theater events are different than any other event you’ve experienced in the past. They provide a lot of opportunity for your firm, but there are some nuances that you’ll need to know about and prepare for. This page contains all the information you need to know to ensure you plan and execute a successful movie theater event. Let Steep market your movie event and get quality prospects using our proven digital marketing systems.

Discover an entirely new venue for your financial events!

Your ideal prospect is 3X more likely to attend a movie event than any other type of financial marketing event. This includes dinner seminars, educational workshops, and webinars. Additionally, many advisors don't have access to a compliant, MPA-rated, documentary-style film that address the planning issues most advisors want to talk about. Simply put, movies represent an unprecedented new opportunity for financial advisors to promote the newest, first-rate financial event.

In this introduction video, we'll share our vision for movie marketing, and give you an overview of what to expect in this training series.

3. CONFIRM YOUR LEADS

What should I do to confirm my registrations?

Attendance rates for movie events range between 30% and 40%. Steep will complete email and text confirmations for you. We recommend confirmation calls as well to ensure you get the highest attendance rate possible. Our pricing for movie events assumes a 30% attendance rate.

Turning as many of your registrants into attendees as possible is the most important part of maximizing your campaign. Having run many of these events, we’ve identified the best confirmation process to increase attendance.

5. INTRODUCE THE MOVIE

Starting your movie event: You should start the introduction to your movie event promptly at the start time advertised.

Here are some things you’ll want to include in your welcome greeting:

  • Thank them for attending
  • Set expectations on timing and process
  • Introduce yourself and your team
  • Introduce the movie and why you’re hosting the event
  • Have all attendees begin the appointment setting process by adding their contact information to their response sheet
  • Ask people to stay for a few minutes after the movie has ended. After you have completed your introduction, have the theater start the movie.

UPDATE:

Since the launch of movie marketing, some advisors have reported a better theater experience and resulting closing rate by delivering a more casual opening to their events.

In lieu of "The Flashbang" these advisors have leaned into the social atmosphere present in theaters by doing a simple introduction that accomplishes the following objectives:
(1) Answer your prospect's top questions about who you are, why you're hosting the movie, and what to expect
(2) Prepare the audience for your call to action by filling out feedback forms/appointment sheets in advance
(3) Ask attendees to remain seated at the conclusion of the film for some more information.
